I have had a lot of time to really go through and expand and polish my portfolio, and even learned some new things.Sometimes when I am browsing the web and catching up with various creative groups whom I follow, I get a ping of inspiration and start a new project that I will hopefully finish. Last night, I came across Creative Bloq’s posting about “10 Awe-Inspiring Examples of Abstract Art,” which they posted on twitter. While not really into traditional abstract art, I do like to check out digital abstract art to see how rendering techniques are used.
While reading the post, I was struck by Lucas Zoltowski’s piece. Ever since I started reading Advanced Photoshop magazine or designing on DeviantArt, I have always liked the method of displacement. It makes it look like the model or object is melting away or decaying away. Sounds gross, but it looks pretty wicked.
So I became inspired and I wanted to finally try my hand at it. I am really happy about how its going so far. I can’t wait to finally get it up. As I’m working on it, I am also thinking about creating an entire branding around it just to give my portfolio some more substance. Here’s a teaser of what its looking like.
